What is the BIC code and how do I find the owner of the container?

The BIC code is a unique identifier of a sea container developed by the International Container Bureau (Bureau International des Containers). Since 1970, BIC has been the official international register of container owner codes, and in 1972 it was adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as part of the ISO 6346 standard 'Cargo containers – Coding, identification and labeling'.
